You can *ask* anything, but asking priority for your own requests is
not very nice. First, because it seems to imply that other people's
wishes are less important than yours. Second, because it looks like
you're telling the developers to hurry up and deliver because *you*
need something.

Remember that these people work - mostly unpaid - to bring you free
software. Nobody owes you anything. Be nice to the developers and
they may give you what you want - if they agree it's useful and if
they have time.
