We run firebird databases approx half the size (Tables Triggers & SPs) but
similar in connections 200-300 and transactions 1,000,000 - 1,500,000 per
day on classic on quadcore - windows with good results.
We find RAM is more important than CPU (but maybe not so with more SPs)
averaging 5Gb - 7Gb depending on load - cpu use is usually < 10%.
Our experience is that database & application design is more important
than firebird limits. We've tweaked firebird.conf - but not much.
The only issue we haven't resolved is occasional (zombie) connections that
don't go away despite having no client - but we haven't put enough effort
into resolving our side yet - so can't blame firebird.
