gstat database_alias -header

or

gstat full/path/to/database -header

You need to be logged in to the actual database server as it can't be
run remotely.

The output you are interested in is:

Database header page information:
...
Oldest transaction 397471
Oldest active 401662
Oldest snapshot 401662
...

Cheers,
Norman.

PS. The user manual for gstat is coming real soon now!
