CISCO routers are very expensive.
But tell me how you're going to make Classic's events pass through the
Firewall of a $50-$100 router?
We aren't talking about enterprise level apps here. I'm on a really low
budget, and so are my clients!

Events are useful for presenting real time changes in your app. One user
modifies a record, the others see it instantly.
The concept you outlined with two servers kills this.

Of course if there is no need for real time I could use the Replicator, but
not in this situation...
