Hi

It happened to me.some day, first time in the morning, no one was connected,
a new admin deleted a file. 'some' .fdb file.

Lucky for me it was in Recycle bin!

Subject: [firebird-support] Database "disappears"

Using FB 1.5x

Has anyone experienced a database that "disappears" (gets deleted,
no longer there)? If so, what are the conditions under which this
happens?

I have a support area with a FB 1.5x server an several database sets
(3-4 databases per station and about 200 stations). Lately, it has
been reported to me that the application being used reports being
unable to locate the database(s). When I go check, one or more of
the databases are indeed missing.

This makes no sense to me. It is as if someone has gone and deleted
the database or moved it elsewhere. But the folks at support do not
have access to where the databases are at the server locations nor
the tech savy to navigate there just to delete databases.

At the customer sites, we have not had any reported cases of these
deletions.

Where should I look next?

Thanks!

-Eduardo
