We have been running a linux fb 1.5.5 server under an ESX 3.02 for some
months now, live environment, simple client server set up probs 30 users
max(windows and linux clients). Checked for correct amount of
cpu's/ram(though we are running only 1 CPU until we upgrade to bigger
CPU allocation licence on ESX). Procinfo, load levels. Simply performed
normal checks, users report it as fine. We had to kick off a CPU
intensive image off that server though.
I admit to not really checking for high loading, as I expect only low
usage, slow queries being my fault via bad sql. We had been running fb
1.5 for a while already in test set ups.
Nothing special on the install. Back/restore fine. Just a lot of
watching of what is happening via procinfo, netstat during initial use.
Going there two weeks to check on site.

Subject: [firebird-support] Firebird + VMWare
Hello Group,
Is there any known issues or considerations for running Firebird
(specifically 1.5.5, but any version) within a virtual machine
(specifically VMWare with a 2003 server guest)?
I have it working normally on my laptop (to the extent I can tell), but
are there any issues/limitations/just don't go there/etc issues I need
to be aware of.
TIA
Adam
