Subject Re: [firebird-support] Firebird + VMWare

We use the free version of VMWare for development and testing. We use
it with Firebird, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, you name it. It works very
well. However the free version doesn't support more than 2 processors
for the guest OS. Also the server needs lots and lots of RAM!

We have spent a lot of time talking with Dell about rolling out a large
production site with linux and Firebird. Obviously in this case we
would have to upgrade and use the Virtual Control Center to control the
running server images on a set of server boxes that only host images and
we would have all of the servers point to the databases stored on a
SAN. We do not plan to move to this environment for a while though.
