If it is a one-way process, e.g. moving transactional data from a
Firebird database into a MSSQL based data warehouse, then any ETL Tool
like "Kettle" or "Talend" could do the job. We have been using Kettle
lately and IMHO, it is a very nice open source product, but I have also
heard good things about Talend.

In MSSQL 2005, the ETL product is called "Integration services".
