I checked the FAQs and this board and found plenty of references to
accessing older servers with newer clients, but I need to go the other
way.
I have a large database system based on Firebird 1.0 There are two
applications, currently using the Firebird 1.0 client. One of these
apps is being phased out and can't be upgraded to work with a newer
client. I'd like to upgrade the server to 2.x, change the client on the
newer app and retain the 1.0 client on the old app (these would be on
different systems). Is this doable? or must the client be the same or a
newer version than the server?
Thanks
