I remembered that I needed to install the compat library first, which I did
but I still get the failed dependancies message.
rpm -i compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-61.i386.rpm
rpm -i FirebirdCS-2.0.3.12981-1.i686.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++.so.5 is needed by FirebirdCS-2.0.3.12981-1.i686
