As I expressed on FDD conference, I think I'd find some time and resources to
contribute.

I think a good start will be to start a mailing list for this new project and
some wiki or something and describe here overall weaknesses of current state,
discovered problems and overall proposal for new project.

This should take no more then one afternoon and can drag contributors to this
project.
