And a last question: where is the Firebird wire protocol
documented, which the new Python driver is planned to
be programmed against?

(I also vaguely remember discussions about a new -- or
additionally layered -- wire protocol, designed to be
easily targeted, something like REST or XML-RPC or whatever.
Anything emerged out of this proposal? [Ouch, that was another
question after the last one])
