problems when modifying original FB files layout to match FHS.
Please try original firebird package from sourceforge.net - you may
simply use binaries for Fb 2.0.3 appropriate for your CPU, that
packages support gentoo, but will be installed in /opt. Or you may
try to do full build from sources without emerge/ebuild - all
required tools should already be present in your system.
If it helps - this is definitely ebuild problem, which is to be
reported to Gentoo.
