Finally got it working, or I should say a friend at work did. It
turned out that it was a permissions problem ( and possible a virtual
mapping issue ). But he added the mapping before he tried changing
the owner ship. I had changed the group ownership, but I guess I
needed to change the actual owner of the directories and files.

I am going to start working on a virtual machine. I guess my question
is memory and size of the disk. Should it just be enough to do basic
stuff as an example? Maybe 512k and 4gb disk?
