I have FB 1.5.3 running on Win2k3 with Athlon 64 X2. Performance wise
it's VERY fast compared to XP. To get it up and running all I had to
do is set the affinity. Otherwise Win2k3 is standard install.
Perhaps the slowness is caused by something similar to the GDB issue
with some older XP and WinME installs? Can you use Filemon to see
which processes access the file?
Which version of Win2k3? I know for sure that Web edition cripples or
prevents certain services from running.
