Thanks Helen and Lester.
I wonder whether the way codecharge's implimentation of php was
causing the issue. I just realized another faux pas, I am using FB2
RC3, and I am not supposed to post bug issues. oops ;)
Incidently everything worked nicely using the FB1.5.3 installer, so I
wonder if the whole gds_db in SERVICES thing was just deprecated in FB2.0.
