Hi Scott,

One suggestion would be to run a ping on your timer (nothing to do
with Firebird). This may resolve your problem if it is network layer
related. You could just try running a ping-t for an hour or two for a
test.

I don't remember if you told your results of openning it on the local
machine and leaving it idle?
