I have a similary problem with my configuration.
On my Gentoo x86_64, i setup a chroot enviroment for running 32 bit
aplication and installed firebird 1.5 32 bit. I waiting for fb2 release
to switch my database. Please contact me private if you wish detail
about my configuration.
