Richard,
Yes, what you did now is better.
If you choose to "reply", any e-mail message contains header information
about to what previous e-mail message you were replying.
Threaded e-mail clients or newsgroup mirrors use these headers to
match against existing e-mails or threads to display it as a threaded
conversation. As you understand, changing the subject line isn't going
to feel these clients ;-)

Contacts List in Outlook Express. Is this better? If not, let me know what
steps I can take to make the thread appropriate to what you pros use.
