Try using the open source ODBC driver for firebird at...
http://www.ibphoenix.com/main.nfs?a=ibphoenix&page=ibp_60_odbc
Use the Version 2.0 Beta 13th Apr 2006 Windows Full Install (.exe) (723k)
You might need to update the drivers in C:\windows\system (or winnt\system32 for
win2k/XP) from V2.0 (Beta V2.00.00.00130) Latest Libraries
* 13th Apr 2006 Windows Dll's (.zip) (380k) (Probably not since the dates
match)
Sometimes only new libraries are released instead of a full install.
Setup your DSN using the Windows Control Panel like you described.
Hope this helps.
