Hi All,
The question is; Are there any circumstances under which a
PLAN clause can be included in a VIEW select statment?
(I cant seem to get it to work at the moment so I am assuming
the answer is probably; "No".)
The followup question being; Is it likely that such a feature
is likely in the future?
The reason for the questions; I dont need this feature myself.
I am trying to follow up with a problem on my DBak program
where a PLAN clause has been used in a stored procedure (thus
meaning that dbak should create indexes before completing
stored procedures so that the plan can be resolved). While
fixing the particular problem I thought I would look for other
possible dependencies on index names within the metadata.
If a view cannot (and will not) use defined plans then that is
one less area for me to worry about.
