In this perticular case, I might suggest running firebird outside of
(x)inetd. Simply because your webserver will hit it x times, but the
value of x is a mystery. Since this is internal communication (generally
I only expose services to the internet BEHIND (x)inetd, and internal I
leave bare) I think this will be a safe bet.
