Linux isn't Windoze. IPServer is a protocol that is specific to Windows.

OTOH, you can direct local connect to Classic on Linux if you use the
libfbembed.so client.

Yes. But you will have to use the service_mgr route - just a change in
your batchfile. See the opguide (or chapter 80 of TFB if you have it.)
