Subject Re: [firebird-support] Problem with FB and XP service pack 2 install

Hi Helen

Will look at upgrading to 1.5.2. At the moment we are just converting
our old BDE / DBase clients over and had planned to wait for FB2,
keeping all clients on the same version in the mean time.

I have asked this client to open port 3060 (I read about it in a google
search related to FB so thought I would give it a go). Should I still
get them to set the remoteAuxPort?

They are just using the same (XP) Firewall as many other users who have
not struck this problem. We for example had not bothered to create an
exclusion for 3050, and have had no problems. Why would they have the
issue when others do not?

Thanks
