I know this has been discussed in detail.
I've read all relevant chapters in Firebird Book .. but I'm still missing
something.
I moved my Database from an old server to a new faster server, but running
Win XP, as linux doesn't yet support the ICH6 on the new Intel boards.
Well now I get the following error when trying to connect:
ISC ERROR MESSAGE: (error code 335544373)
Operating system directive CreateFile failed
Access is denied
The hosts file has an entry for the NEWSERVER
NEWSERVER has a fixed IP address as part of a wireless LAN
The directory where the database resides is PRAX
The database is PRAX.GDB
I use logon: \\NEWSERVER\C:PRAX\PRAX.GDB
<file:///\\NEWSERVER\C:PRAX\PRAX.GDB>
The Prax Folder is shared for access to the database .. I don't like doing
this, but it appears to be the only way to get it to work.?
Firebird SS installed. Same version on host, and client..
The firebird.conf has a c:\temp 50000000
It appears to be writing to temporary files under windows\system32\temp but
that the system denies access.
Surely the firebird server controls this, or must I share the default
firebird folder, and windows/system32 .. this just cannot be the solution?
Any help please
Adrian
This always used to work so easily .. I don't know what I'm doing wrong now.
