I install the ODBC Driver on a computer running Windows XP Pro.

I have to enter the "gdb_db 3050/tcp" entry in the services file.
I have to copy the gds32.dll file into the windows\system32 folder.

Does anyone know why this is not done by the installer?

Does anyone know of a better odbc driver that I should use?
