Subject Re: [firebird-support] FB performance on Win32 and Linux
Author Steve Wiser
We develop on Windows (some developer machines, but we do also have
dedicated linux development and test servers) and do production on linux
servers. However, the developer machines are not running any heavy load
and do not have multiple processors... The only big thing that I have
seen (remember we did not load test or anything like that on Windows) is
that the backup/restore process on Windows takes so long compared to
linux (however we are using Interbase, not Firebird). I don't know if
that is a problem for anyone, but our nightly backup window is very
precious to us and any time saved is great.
