The ultimate protection against all failures is one-way replication.
Using this method, you can automatically have a live backup, free from
any database corruption, even off-site if necessary. Since replication
is much faster than a complete backup (since it only replicates the
changes since last replication), you can replicate much more frequenty
(every 15-30 seconds for example).
