Hi Kevin,
XP Pro will limit you to no more than ten concurrent connections as far as I
recall.
I'd suggest you go for MS Small Business Server 2003 which will allow up to
75 concurrent connections. It comes standard with I think 5 cals, and you'd
need to buy the rest. It is a well priced product (if you can classify any
Windows product as such!!) , specifically aimed at the small business
sector.

Subject: [firebird-support] Windows O/S Config for 50-user system
Greetings,
I have to quote a 50-user system for my app. The o/s has to be windows
based (I wish I knew Linux).
Question:
For a 50-user system, do I need to purchase Windows 2003 with 50 cals or can
I just purchase a beefed-up PC running something like XP Pro?
Thanks,
Kevin
