What is the header statistics of the database? The database header
"might" give some indication as to what is happening.
You can use the GSTAT command-line to retrieve both information.
Do you have an anti-virus running, that might be scanning the file? It
might be the scheduled scan, not the real-time scan.
Do you have a disk defragmenter that might be running at the
time(might be scheduled or running automatically at different times)?
And, is it possible that the WAN users using FR might cause some
problems(maybe the FR connection is not strong enough, sometimes)?
