I am currently converting an application using MSDE to use Firebird 1.5. The size of the MSDE installation makes it unlikely potential users will want to download the application.
In the conversion I am using IBPhoenix Open Source ODBC Driver, a system DSN, and TBetterADODataSet. Is there anything inherently wrong/bad with this approach? The application I am converting is a free community-based software product - therefore I can not spend money on it, and I need to keep the installation program small. Thanks for your feedback.
Regards
Mike
