I've heard newer M$ OSes have a problem with the .gdb extension. Not sure
how you assign the database for your connection, but I keep mine in an ini
file on each computer.
Makes it very easy to change.

databases, merging the rest well before FIB 3.0 comes along.

Another question, is it absolutely necessary to change every .gdb to .fdb?
We do not shadow on our server (runs 2003). My test machine runs W2000
SP3.
It would save us a day or two of changing data sources. All new DB's would
be .fdb.

That is another issue. For this particular application, we're still using
IBX.

Will have to do something soon, though.
