Thank you all for your kind replies, it helped me a lot. I have
decided to go with Firebird. I'm going to implement a three-tier
architecture, with Firebird as the data backend. I suppose I'll make
heavy uses of UDF (which are lovely), and perhaps I'll try to write a
connector for AOLServer (which I'm going to use for the presentation
layer). Anyways, thank you again, and wish me luck.
