Is there any way to safely turn Forced Writes off when running Firebird
1.02 under Windows XP? I read somewhere that this was unsafe. Is XP
anymore reliable in this area than NT was 4 years ago? Most of the text
I have read about FW was written that long ago. Also, if it is not safe,
is there a reliable way to repair the database if the worse should
happen?
The speed difference is really pretty amazing and I would really like to
keep Forced Writes off if at all possible.
Finally, I couldn't find documentation on ibconfig for setting Forced
Writes off, does anyone have any documentation? I end up doing it in
IBExpert.
