Running the DOS command
C:\Firebird\Firebird-1.5.0.3233_RC1_win32\bin\instsvc.exe start
produces the following message

Error occurred during "OpenService"
Windows NT error 1060
Service "Firebird Guardian" not started.

So I still have a problem.
