It is unacceptable that the installer blows away system files especially when the change to fix the installer is so minor.

The installer should be pulled until it is updated.

I just installed FireBird on MacOS X the other day and I too noticed that the indet.conf and StartupItems where wiped.

I strongly encourage that get fixed immediately before it affectgs more users.
