theKompanies ReKall may one day support InterBase/Firebird, or at least
there site says they plan to add drivers for them and other RDMS.

OpenOffice can be integrated with Firebird via JayBird.
I have not actually done it, due to RedHat 8.0's installation of OO not
supporting Java? I am looking into re-installing from a tarball or
something so I can over come this.
However I have done it on other machines and it is possible.
FYI, Java related questions and etc should be forwarded to
firebird-java@yahoogroups.com
Also nice to see a fellow Sonic subscriber looking into and using
Firebird.
