if you mean a setting for using the local protocol in terminal
sessions (which would bring the question: why bother?), then perhaps
tampering with the IpcName and RemotePipeName settings in
firebird.conf could give some results (in particular, using a global
pipe name instead of the default which is local), but I never tried.
