Hello everyone, and excuse my poor english.
I have the following problem. I've installed firebird server on debian
GNU/Linux, and it works fine. But when I add more hosts to
/etc/host.equiv (no matter if I add an ip address or a domain name),
the server rejects the connections and prints the followin message to
/var/log/firebird.log:
INET/INET_connect: gethostbyname failed, error code = 1
Note that i tried to add the ip address to /etc/hosts, and it didn't
work (the same error ocured).
And another question, how can I make firebird server allow connections
from ALL HOSTS (I have a dialup host, which has to connect to the server).
Than you for your help.
Regards, Robert
