Hi:

I have an installation of Interbase on a client, and from one of the
computers it has let work the connection to him to the server.

According to his version, it has not passed anything that justifies
this, but when analyzing its computer, We have discovered that he
has installed Kazaa, and it has uninstalled it.

When trying to connect by the server manager, by TCP/IP,
obtains the following error:

Unable to complete network request to host "servidor_tipo_a"

Failed to locate host machine

Undefined service gds_db/tcp

In the interbase.log, repeatedly appears the following error:

PC_02 (CLient) Mon Oct 27 13:06:16 2003
INET/INET_connect: getservbyname failed, error code = 11004

The SO is W2000.
The version of Interbase is IB 5.5 Windows, in the server. In the PC
client IB 5.5 Client Windows have been only installed.

We have reviewed the file hosts and services and are correct. By means
of NetBEUI yes it connects the server, but this system cannot be used
from the application, for other reasons. The server also responds when
doing ping. They have not been virus.
