In the interbase.log, repeatedly appears the following error:

PC_02 (CLient) Mon Oct 27 13:06:16 2003
INET/INET_connect: getservbyname failed, error code = 11004

The SO is W2000.
The version of Interbase is IB 5.5 Windows, in the server. In the PC
client IB 5.5 Client Windows have been only installed.>>

Hosts maybe... cf. the ping that works. Services no. Check the server services
file
and make sure it has a gds_db/tcp 3050 entry. Because the error
Undefined service gds_db/tcp means exactly that.
