Can anyone describe when I might want to switch from IB to another DBMS? Is
there a record/table/filesize/usercount that is a good guide?

Any information would be helpful, the amount of data, and the number of
users is growing more
rapidly than we had anticipated. We'll need to have 1000 people in the
software ( not
counting web users ) before another year has passed.
