thanks to all of you for your help,
i've been working the past few hours digging through the old code and found
various spots where transactions would not be closed under certain
circumstances. i will try this out and report if it solved the problem. i
think it will most certainly solve the problems with the transactions not
rolling, but will it solve the 100% cpu problem? we will see.
