I think there's some confusion here about version numbers
6.0.1 is still the last open source binary version of IB which contains the
security patch
This 6.0.1.6 version is nowhere to be seen at mers, I've never heard of it.
Unless someone has compiled it
I've never heard of 6.01 and I have no idea where this version number, if
it's not a typo, stands in the sequence.
AFAIK, there are no bugs in 6.0.1 - none that I have experienced or seen
reported specifically.
as for "serious bugs"... no way jose

This is from a post (one of several) from a TeamB member on the
borland.public.interbase.general NG:

Don't use IB 6.01. It's old and has some serious bugs.
You should use IB 6.0.1.6 or later.

and another:

If you do a search I think you will find quite a few of similar posts.
I don't use IB/6.01 myself so I've not experienced this myself.
