Did something happen 8 days ago? Any changes to server or programs? Any
new client added?
Is there someone who is trying to copy ("file-copy") you database while is
is running?

Did you always get a gap of this size? A new observation?

How many buffers are used? Maybe you should set it to someting specific
(would not affect your problems, I'd guess)
