It depends on the range of randomness, the problem with using a
pre-defined amount of time, is that if you have three trying to
connect at
exactly the same time, they lock, and decide to try again, so they
all
wait say 50ms, then they try again, lock again and keep repeating
this
process over and over again until two if the users says %$#@%
system, and
give up. Now if we randomize the time say between 25 - 75ms, it's
likely
that all three will pick a different amount of time, and all three will
get in within 75ms.
