i am planning to install an SS firebird on a shared server. is this
recommended, or should users just use direct file access (e.g. does fb
allow, say, any user to install his/her UDF? than SS is totally
unacceptable).
also, i wonder how do i accomplish the following:
1) rename the 'SYSDBA' username (to make cracking that account harder);
2) make fb only accept certain database paths (e.g. only below
/databases/firebird/...);
3) ibserver that comes with rpm from sourceforge.net runs as root by
default, what needs to be changed to make it run as, say, user 'ibserver'?
