If a bug is causing you problems there are really only two ways to make sure it is fixed:
o Throw your money at it. Hire a Firebird developer privately or
hire IBPhoenix to arrange things for you.
o Throw your time at it. Roll up your sleeves and fix the bug
yourself.
But if you do nothing, not even report the bug through the proper channels then yes, you're right - I doubt there will ever be a fix.
And where does IBPhoenix fit into all this? We are a small software company. Strong on expertise, low on resources. Like everyone else we have to prioritise. Paying customers come first. Polite emails come second. I know many a day goes by with emails that come in and remain unanswered or partially answered and left in the draft tray (at least as far as I'm concerned). It is nothing personal - there is just too much to do and not enough hours in the day.
