Recent reports suggested that 64 bit file i/o on Linux may not be working correctly. This matter has been investigated further.
It does appear to be the case that the file pointer is wrapping around at the 4Gb file size limit. The Firebird project haven't had time to look into this in detail yet.
In the light of this the 64-bit file i/o download has been disabled at sourceforge. If anyone has been linking to it via their web-site please hide the link until a fix is posted.
If you have the 64-bit file i/o server deployed it is recommended that you take steps to add additional files to any databases you value. Otherwise, once the 4Gb size is reached a single file database will become corrupt.
