There's IB-Architect@yahoogroups.com. I forgot about that one, but just as
a reminder that it is for open discussion on a feature request or other
architecture related topic, but not to officially submit it, since it would
be lost in the messages.

This is true. It is nice to discuss it first, but sometimes, it's good to
enter the request somewhere where it wouldn't be forgotten. Also, by
entering it in the Bug Tracker, all the developers see it and sometimes
discuss it on the Firebird developers group.
